| | Ugh....I hate people who don't take responsibility for their actions.
I personally believe that actions are the ultimate judge of a person's character. You can say all you want, but if you don't actually live/express that through the way you conduct your life, then all your talk is pointless. Say that you're a good, moral person all you want, but if you don't act it, then all your talk is bullshit to me. So, I don't care how much you say you care about the community, or how much you say you're a paramour of virtue, if you aren't helping to somehow change the society that we live in for the better, then you can just shut the hell up!!
P.S. I had a conversation with someone that really irks me cuz they basically said that as long as you don't kill someone while you're drunk, then being intoxicated is carte blanche to do whatever. I personally think that that is bull shit. You had control of every single moment up until you were drunk, so whatever you do while you are drunk is your responsibility. I'll say that the only cases where that's not really applicable is if you've never been drunk and don't know your limit or how you act when you're drunk, but if you're doing this on a somewhat frequent basis, then you are definitely accountable for your actions. You know what you're like when you're drunk, you know what it takes to get drunk, and if you defend yourself by saying that you have to be drunk to have fun, then there are deeper issues you have to deal with. Iunno....thoughts?
Argh......sorry, just annoyed, cuz I feel that this sentiment (I'm not responsible for anything) is a huge problem with young people. We need to learn to admit our mistakes in order to grow and mature, otherwise you're just stuck in a constant, juvenile state and that is pointless.
